Progressive Suspension Monotube Fork Cartridge Kits
Progressive Suspension Monotube fork cartridge kits for the Harley-Davidson Sportster, Softail 2000 to 2017 and Touring 2017 to 2025, and for the Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing. Each kit goes inside the stock fork and replaces its internals. The Touring kit uses Frequency Sensing Technology, and the Sportster Iron has its own kit.
What a Monotube kit does
Progressive says its Harley-Davidson Monotube fork kit replaces all of the original fork internals, with gas-charged Monotube damper cartridges and custom tuned fork springs, as a stock height or a lowered version. For Touring models it offers a kit with Frequency Sensing Technology and a progressive-rate spring, again at stock height or lowered. The Touring kit here is listed for 2017 to 2025. On this page the Sportster has three kits, split by model year, plus one for the Sportster Iron.
Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing
For the Gold Wing, Progressive says the Monotube cartridge kit replaces the open bath internals of the stock fork and keeps the factory anti-dive function. Progressive lists it for Gold Wings from 2001 and all F6B models, and the Fitment section on the listing gives the years ours is supplied for.
Fitting
A cartridge kit is a fork rebuild rather than a bolt-on part, so the forks come apart and are refilled with oil. Fork oil level tools for that step are on the suspension tools page.
