Cobra Freeway Bars & Engine Guards
Freeway bar is Cobra's name for its steel tube engine guards. Cobra freeway bars here come in standard, Fatty and V-Bend styles, in chrome or black, for Harley-Davidson Softail, Sportster, Dyna, Touring and Trike models, the Indian Scout, and Honda VT, VTX and CMX, Yamaha XV and XVS, Kawasaki VN and Suzuki C and M cruisers. There is also one case guard, for the Suzuki M 109 R.
Standard or Fatty?
Cobra makes its freeway bars in two sizes: the standard bar uses 1.25 inch diameter steel tube and the Fatty uses 1.5 inch steel tube. The Fatty bars here are for Honda VTX, Yamaha XV and XVS, Suzuki C 90 and C 109 RT, and Kawasaki VN 1600 and VN 2000 models. V-Bend bars are for Harley-Davidson Sportster, Dyna and Touring models, and the Touring and Trike freeway bar guard comes in chrome or black.
What a freeway bar is for
Cobra says its freeway bars and case guards are designed to offer some protection if the motorcycle tips over in a car park, or if someone knocks it over, and that they are styled to give the bike a retro look. Cobra does not describe them as crash protection.

Is a freeway bar the same as a crash bar?
Cobra does not call it one. It says its freeway bars and case guards are designed to offer some protection if the motorcycle tips over in a car park, or if someone knocks it over.
