Risers move the bars up and usually back, which changes a stretched-forward riding position into an upright one. For a taller rider that is the single cheapest change to how a bike feels over a long day.
The thing to check before ordering is cable and hose length: raising the bars far enough can put the front brake line and throttle cables under tension at full lock. Risers are sold by the height they add and the bar diameter they clamp, both of which are on the product page along with the confirmed models.
